Roeder confident Emre can make difference

england

Newcastle United boss Glenn Roeder is convinced Emre will dominate the Premiership this season. Emre and his team-mates will run out at Aston Villa today looking to extend their unbeaten run to 13 games, and with the diminutive midfielder rapidly emerging as a crowd favourite. Roeder said: “He should be. He’s a player of high quality. “He was at Inter Milan the best part of four seasons - they do not keep players for four seasons if they are not good. “If they find out they are not good players, they shift them on very quickly. The fact that he was there for four seasons tells its own story. “He has had a good pre-season, which he did not really have last year as it was interrupted with minor injuries. “But he has not had anything like that this year. He’s getting fitter game by game, and I’m expecting - and he’s expecting of himself - a successful season.”
